In Freudenheim show, five alternate views of abstraction

It’s best to set aside a big chunk of time for Gabriele Evertz, a current Hunter College faculty member, whose paintings have more to do with the workings of the human brain than what’s actually on the canvas. Evertz’s pieces juxtapose vertical and horizontal lines of color, like scan lines from a flickering television set or computer monitor, to create unexpected effects when viewed from various distances.
